About the RoleThe Business Services Administrator will serve as the Human Resources Liaison/Office Manager for the Department of Transportation.
This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as experience in employee recruitment and training.
The Business Services Administrator will analyze the effectiveness of proposed programs, policies, and procedures, and assist in the development of new ones.
This role also involves managing payroll functions, processing employee evaluations, and serving as the FOIA Liaison Officer.
The Business Services Administrator will work closely with the Director to prioritize their day, manage their calendar, and schedule meetings both online and in-person.
ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this role include:
- Managing and coordinating all personnel actions, including disciplinary actions, employee counseling, and mentoring employees.
- Analyzing the effectiveness of proposed programs, policies, and procedures, and assisting in the development of new ones.
- Recruitment needs, including assisting staff with paperwork and guiding them through the interview process.
- Onboarding and off-boarding of new hires.
- Serving as the FOIA Liaison Officer, ensuring that requests are sent to the appropriate staff member and responded to in a timely manner.
- Managing payroll functions and processing employee evaluations.
- Working closely with the Director to prioritize their day, manage their calendar, and schedule meetings both online and in-person.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or G.E.D., and 7 years of related experience in office administration.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
- General knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources.
- Experience in employee recruitment and training.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to lead a team.
- Solid understanding and experience processing payroll.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented and able to work collaboratively and independently.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
We offer a competitive salary range of $103,600.00 - $123,267.00/yr.
Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical plans, pharmacy coverage, basic vision coverage, dental plans, and a separate vision plan.
Full-time and part-time employees are eligible to participate in these plans, but the level and cost of benefits depend on the classification of the position.
