Job Description

Job Summary:

The Bookkeeper will prepare financial reports to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities under the supervision of our Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

· Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.

· Prepares periodic (monthly/quarterly/annual) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.

· Maintains the general ledger.

· Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.

· Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.

· Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.

· Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are billed to the appropriate accounts.

· Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.

· Prepare documentation for required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.

· As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.

· Answer questions and inquiries from Head Office regarding AP/AR procedures and records.

· Performs other related duties as assigned. May need to collaborate with vendors for company maintenance, security, pest control, signage, and more, as needed.

Requirements:

· Bilingual Chinese Mandarin and English required.

· Must be dependable and extremely trustworthy.

· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

· Excellent organizational skills and diligence.

· Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.

· Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.

· Understanding of and ability to adhere to accepted accounting principles.

· Highly proficient with accounting software - SAGE.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.

· Five or more years of accounting experience required.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift to fifteen pounds at times. (Office related supplies or similar office related items)

Job Type: Full-time

Rate of Pay: $22 - $24 per hour DOE

Benefits:

  • Medical insurance available after 60-days. $275 per month toward a plan choice offered by employer – over $275 is employee responsibility. No pay out for this benefit.
  • Paid time off – Sick and Vacation leave available for use after 90-day probation period.
  • Public Holidays

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm

Work Location: One location in shared office space
