We are seeking a highly skilled Body Shop Technician to join our team at Ascendance. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining truck equipment on various commercial truck chassis.
Key Responsibilities- Fabrication and Installation: Fabricate, weld, and integrate electrical systems and lighting, install hydraulic systems and components, and assemble and install truck bodies and related equipment.
- Electrical and Hydraulic Systems: Integrate electrical components, including lighting, controls, safety equipment, and operator indicators, into chassis electrical systems. Build and document wiring harnesses, route and secure according to industry standards.
- Hydraulic System Installation: Assemble and install hydraulic system components, including reservoirs, pumps, valves, and controls. Determine optimal location for installation on vehicle chassis.
- Heavy Duty Truck Repair: Perform heavy duty truck/trailer repair and maintenance, including modifying OEM chassis by relocating components as needed for proper equipment installation.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, including discussing repairs with customers and presenting and discussing information and/or issues with internal contacts.
- Education and Training: High School Diploma, 2-year Technical School preferred. Equivalent amount of work experience may be considered in lieu of schooling.
- License and Certification: Unrestricted Driver's License, CDL A or B License beneficial. Obtain and maintain 100% Certified Technician Status with Navistar/International, Cummins, and other OEMs as required.
- Physical Requirements: Heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Visual Acuity and Field Vision: The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as operates machines, such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach.
The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. The worker is subject to noise, vibration, and hazards, including proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
