We are seeking an experienced Airport Electrical Systems Expert and Regulatory Advisor to join our team at Micro Systems Consultants Inc. As a critical member of our organization, you will play a key role in providing technical guidance and support to our clients in the aviation industry.

About the Role

This position is responsible for acting as a subject matter expert in airport lighting, electrical systems, and equipment, with a focus on reviewing and updating Advisory Circulars (ACs) related to airport lighting and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of FAA regulations and guidelines, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and updating AAS-100 owned or managed guidance and requirements for airport lighting and electrical systems, including airport signs, obstruction lighting, heliport lighting, surface surveillance systems, next-gen technology, airport lighting equipment certification program, and LED lights and lighting systems.
  • Reviewing ACs and making recommendations for adjudicating comments, as well as identifying differences with respect to pertinent ICAO documents and providing a report summarizing the findings.
  • Reviewing Advisory Circulars (ACs), Engineering Briefs (EBs), FAA Orders, and white papers, and making recommendations for adjudicating comments.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An engineering degree in a related field and at least 15 years of experience in airport electrical engineering.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office365, SharePoint, and Excel software.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to execute multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • The desire and drive to learn, grow, and advance within the industry.
Preferred Skills

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Professional document writing skills or editing experience.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint on Windows-based computers.
  • Programming or application development experience.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. Full-time employees are eligible for paid company benefits, paid time off, sick leave, and federal/national holiday pay.
