Job Description

The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide keyboard/piano and/or guitar accompaniment for a blended worship service that may include traditional, contemporary, or gospel music styles.
  • Collaborate with the Protestant Chaplain to plan and coordinate music for worship services.
  • Assist with rehearsals for vocalists and ensure all audio/visual equipment is setup and tested prior to each service/rehearsal.
  • Be present at least ten (10) minutes before rehearsals and fifteen (15) minutes before worship services.
  • Ensure the worship team area is left clean after use.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years of experience playing keyboard/piano and/or guitar accompaniment for a Chapel or church setting.
  • Experience accompanying/leading vocalists and/or congregation in Chapel setting utilizing a wide range of traditional, contemporary, and gospel Christian music.
  • Proficiency on piano, keyboard, and/or guitar, as well as vocal ability, as demonstrated by an audition with the Chapel staff.
  • Experience utilizing innovative approaches to effectively play music in a way that enhances the spiritual value of Protestant worship services and encourages congregational members to participate in musical worship.
Special Services
  • Play music for Easter Sunrise, Good Friday, and Christmas Eve services.
  • Participate in weddings and funerals, not to exceed six per year.

This is a part-time position with compensation based on budget and the successful candidate's experience and qualifications.
