Job Title: Clinical Nutrition Specialist

About the Role:

The Clinical Nutrition Specialist plays a pivotal role in healthcare institutions, providing specialized nutrition therapy and dietary guidance to patients. They collaborate closely with healthcare teams to assess patients' nutritional needs and develop tailored diet plans to promote recovery and manage medical conditions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments and creating individualized meal plans for patients.
  • Collaborating with medical staff to integrate nutrition therapy into patient care plans.
  • Monitoring and documenting patients' nutritional status and progress.
  • Providing expert dietary counseling to patients with specific medical conditions or dietary restrictions.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
  • Developing and implementing nutrition education programs for patients and their families.
  • Assessing patients' readiness for change and providing appropriate interventions.
  • Staying current with the latest research and developments in nutritional science and incorporating best practices into patient care.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records and reports.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
  • Registered Dietician (RD) credential.
  • Licensure or certification as a dietitian in the state of practice.
  • Proven experience in clinical nutrition or dietetics.
  • Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and assessment techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for counseling and educating patients.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
