Job Summary

As a Pharmacy Technician at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in providing pharmaceutical care to patients. Under the direction of a pharmacist, you will perform pharmacy-related functions in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately interpret and prepare medication orders by filling provider orders, medication kits/trays, automated dispensing cabinets, and floor stock requisitions.
  • Handle all controlled substances in compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Deliver medications to the appropriate patient care area or department in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to an efficient pharmacy work environment by providing excellent customer service and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Participate in training of new personnel and mentorship of new pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns.
Requirements
  • State Certified Pharmacy Tech with the SC Board of Pharmacy.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; OR post high school degree.
  • 6 months experience as a Pharmacy Tech.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of SCBOP/DHEC/DEA rules/regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with subordinates, peers, supervisors, and others outside the department.
  • Problem solving abilities; able to work in team situations; handle urgent, stressful conditions.
