Position Overview:
As a vital member of the Oncology Service line, the Registered Nurse will provide essential clinical support to healthcare providers, clinical staff, and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough nursing assessments, including vital signs and lab result evaluations for all patients.
  • Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy in accordance with physician orders, ensuring accurate dosing based on the latest lab results and patient weight.
  • Verify treatment orders and medications, collaborating with another RN or pharmacy for confirmation.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions or infusion-related side effects, providing appropriate interventions and education on self-care during treatment.
  • Deliver personalized patient education, including chemotherapy teaching sessions and treatment plans.
  • Engage with a multidisciplinary team to address individual patient needs, communicate concerns to providers, and review prior treatments and provider notes to ensure the appropriateness of regimens and lab evaluations before treatment.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse licensure.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience in medical/surgical nursing.
  • Experience in administering chemotherapy.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers (e.g., computer keyboard); ability to lift and carry light loads (up to 40 lbs.), including boxes and equipment; ability to stoop and kneel; ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods (4-8 hours) as required; must be capable of operating necessary equipment.
Work Environment:
  • Onsite position.
Compensation:
  • Hourly pay range: $35.50 to $44.25.
