Job Title: Cloud Architect

ECS Federal is seeking a talented Cloud Architect to join our team in Fairfax, VA. As a cloud subject matter expert, you will be responsible for managing enterprise architecture efforts, including high-level system design, prototyping, proofs of concept, and future-state architecture solutioning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze stakeholder requests to evaluate technologies and provide feedback and guidance on solution design
  • Work across teams to provide design context and help define and deliver solution capabilities
  • Develop production solutions and explore problems to find creative solutions and grow existing skillsets
  • Translate requirements into high-level system designs and design and implement data management technologies
  • Integrate systems, services, and/or components through standard or custom APIs and produce technical documentation to communicate system designs and technological analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences
Requirements:
  • US citizenship with ability to obtain Public Trust Suitability
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 8 years managing, designing, building, and implementing enterprise technology solutions
  • 8 years supporting Private, Commercial, and/or Hybrid Cloud deployments
  • 5 years AWS cloud experience (GovCloud preferred), deploying compute, storage, and other native service offerings
  • 5 years producing architecture and designs that implement scalability, performance, and cost-effective solutions
  • 5 years incorporating security best practices for system integration and design, such as NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • 5 years delivering technical solutions for government customers on programs of at least $50M in total contract value
  • 4 years translating requirements into high-level system designs
  • 4 years designing and implementing data management technologies
  • 4 years integrating systems, services, and/or components through standard or custom APIs
  • 4 years producing technical documentation to communicate system designs and technological analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with Government Cyber Mission Space and legal constraints applicable to civilian Government Agencies (FISMA, FIPS, SecOps, etc.)
  • Experience with DevSecOps
  • Experience with Elastic Cloud Enterprise and other Elastic products
  • Experience in assessment, evaluation, and documentation of client environment, infrastructure, process, operations
  • Experience in data modeling, visualization, metric dashboards, and other reporting systems
  • Understanding of DHS CDM Program and understanding of cybersecurity requirements and mandates
  • Understanding of programming languages such as Python or Java, including limitations they may have on system implementations as well as software development best practices for system consideration
