Job Overview
CO-MHAR, Inc. is a not-for-profit community based health and human service organization founded in 1975. We provide intensive behavioral health services to children, youth, and young adults with mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs.

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team. This role will provide one-to-one mental health interventions to children or adolescents with serious emotional disturbances. The goal of this position is to prevent more restrictive services or out-of-home placement and promote age-appropriate psychosocial growth.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with families, teachers, and other school personnel to develop the skills and techniques needed to integrate children into normalizing activities. They will use various interventions, including positive behavioral reinforcement, emotional support, time-structuring activities, crisis intervention techniques, and other strategies as prescribed in the child's treatment plan.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one mental health interventions to children or adolescents with serious emotional disturbances.

Requirements
  • Have a high school diploma/GED or higher.
  • Must be able to complete 64 hours of behavioral health technicians paid training upon hire.

Salary and Benefits
