Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) RN Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) team at St. Joseph's Health in Syracuse, NY.

Job Summary: As a CVICU RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients requiring advanced cardiovascular interventions. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless transitions of care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.

About the Role:

  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Promote patient education and support, fostering a culture of respect and empathy.

Requirements:

  • Current RN licensure in New York State.
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing or higher from an accredited institution.
  • At least 6 months of acute care experience as a registered nurse.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
