About the Role
As a Medical Director/Physician Outpatient Neurology Specialist at UNC REX Healthcare, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional medical services to patients in an outpatient setting. Our organization is committed to improving the health and well-being of diverse communities, and we are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional medical services to patients, exercising independent judgment in their care and treatment.
- Order and prescribe medical treatment, diagnostic testing, nursing care, and other health and medical services, as well as prescribe pharmaceuticals.
- Consult and counsel with patients and families, providing health and medical education to promote informed decision-making.
- Refer patients to medical specialists and other healthcare professionals as needed to ensure comprehensive care.
- Document medical and clinical care in patient records, assigning diagnostic and procedural codes for third-party insurance billing.
- Supervise other medical professionals, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Adhere to the principles of medical ethics, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
Requirements
- Meet Board Certification requirements, with graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
- Hold a valid North Carolina Medical License, DEA License, and BLS/ACLS certification.
- Previous experience in neurology is required, with a strong background in outpatient care.
