Job Summary:

UAB Medicine is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Acute Care Medicine Unit. As a critical care nurse, you will utilize the nursing process to care for and counsel individuals in the promotion and maintenance of health and the prevention of illness and injury. You will work collaboratively with the patient, their family, and the healthcare team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

- Utilize the nursing process to care for and counsel individuals in the promotion and maintenance of health and the prevention of illness and injury.
- Work collaboratively with the patient, their family, and the healthcare team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Identify patient needs using the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Synergy Model.
- Delegate, coordinate, and manage all aspects of nursing care provided to the patient, their family, and the community in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Requirements:

- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
