We are seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician to join our team at the South Dakota Correctional Facility. As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients in a correctional setting.
About the Position- Employed position by the State of South Dakota
- Located 30 miles from Yankton, SD and 100 miles from Sioux Falls, SD
- Group has two APP's and one physician
- Growth-oriented position
- 15 days of PTO and 14 sick days annually
- Paid family leave and 11 paid holidays

- 6-8% fully matched retirement plan
- Supplemental retirement plan similar to a 401K
- Fully vested after 3 years of service
- SD medical license is required

We offer a competitive salary range of $247,845 to $330,446 depending on experience. Calls are shared equally between 8 physicians in a rotating basis, resulting in 6 or 7 weeks of call per year. Salaries are reviewed annually by the state and raises are determined by legislators. No production bonus system.
CorrecTek EMR is used in the facility, and no state income tax is applicable in South Dakota. Reduced tuition at State Universities is also available. Paid Professional Liability Insurance - Public entity pool for liability (PEPL) fund is provided.
The facility is an all-men's correctional facility, and patients are aged 19 and older. We are open to an experienced provider with a clean license/background and ability to get a SD license. General practice providers will be considered as Board Eligibility is NOT required.
The position is a.8 FTE status position, with 32 hours per week and pay prorated to.8 FTE. Group has three APP's and one MD, replacing a doctor who is relocating. Training opportunities through the state of SD are available.
