Position SummaryAs the Brand Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and overseeing our brand's identity and visibility within the dynamic and regulated cannabis sector. This position requires innovative thinking, strategic insight, and a thorough understanding of cannabis market dynamics, consumer preferences, and regulatory frameworks. You will collaborate with diverse teams to devise engaging marketing strategies, manage product introductions, and ensure that all branding initiatives comply with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Brand Strategy Formulation: Create and execute a detailed brand strategy encompassing market research, brand positioning, and consumer insights tailored to the cannabis sector.
- Campaign Leadership: Direct creative marketing campaigns from inception to execution, ensuring alignment with market demands and compliance requirements. Evaluate campaign effectiveness and implement data-driven enhancements as necessary.
- Product Launch Coordination: Spearhead the introduction of new products and strains, collaborating with marketing operations, cultivation, production, and sales teams to ensure successful market entry and reception.
- Trade Marketing Development: Design and oversee marketing materials for trade exhibitions, events, sales presentations, and retail partners, ensuring compliance with cannabis advertising regulations.
- Sales Team Collaboration: Partner with sales and field teams to grasp market needs and retail collaborations, developing strategies that enhance sales and brand loyalty.
- Regulatory Compliance Education: Remain informed about cannabis legislation to guarantee that all branding and marketing activities adhere to legal standards. Provide training to the team on regulatory updates and best practices.
- Brand Performance Reporting: Compile and present monthly reports on brand performance, market trends, and campaign outcomes to the marketing team and senior leadership.
- Consumer Insights Analysis: Collaborate with the Senior Director of Marketing to conduct and analyze consumer research, utilizing findings to refine marketing strategies and product offerings.
- Competitive Landscape Monitoring: Stay attuned to competitor activities, industry trends, and market conditions, reporting insights to the marketing team to adjust strategies and maintain a competitive advantage.
- Comprehensive Brand Marketing Execution: Oversee social media, community engagement, content creation, event strategies, and marketing campaigns.
- Long-Term Strategic Planning: Assist in the annual operating plan and long-term strategic initiatives by maintaining brand calendars and proposing ideas for key programming aligned with the cannabis retail calendar.
- Digital Asset Management: Manage our digital asset library, including the development of training resources for the sales team.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other duties as assigned by key stakeholders and supervisors to ensure brand success.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A background in botanical sciences or cannabis-related fields is advantageous.
- 3-5 years of brand management experience, ideally within the cannabis, pharmaceutical, alcohol, or similarly regulated sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of the cannabis market, consumer trends, and regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while adhering to deadlines.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in performance metrics.

The annual salary range for this role is $85,000 to $115,000. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one component of the total compensation package designed to reward and recognize employee contributions.
