POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician will be tasked with identifying issues by monitoring mechanical systems in operation.
Technicians will disassemble equipment to remove faulty components, utilizing hoists, cranes, and various hand and power tools, while assessing the condition of parts.
The Technician will evaluate the dimensional specifications of components by inspecting them and documenting any maintenance performed.KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on packaging machinery and sealing equipment.
2. Perform routine maintenance on Paper Machinery (PMC) and Thermoforming Cup Forming Machines.
3. Execute maintenance and repairs on carton sealing machines and associated conveyor systems.
4. Accurately complete all necessary documentation, including record-keeping and ordering supplies.
5. Adhere to Lockout/Tagout Procedures diligently.
6. Follow detailed instructions and guidelines precisely.
7. Interpret blueprints and technical schematics effectively.
8. Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
10. Comply with all safety regulations and policies.
11. Perform tool changeovers on PMC and Sherwood cup forming machines.
The above responsibilities are intended to outline the general nature and scope of the position. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed based on business requirements.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
1. High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
2. Vocational training in a related field is preferred; demonstrated mechanical aptitude; six months or more of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
3. Ability to stand for extended periods; use hands and fingers to manipulate tools and controls; reach with arms and hands.
4. Strong handgrip strength is necessary.
5. Good hand-eye coordination is essential.
6. Frequently required to climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
7. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
8. Work in proximity to moving mechanical parts and occasionally in outdoor weather conditions.
9. Ability to work in high-temperature and high-humidity environments.
10. Exposure to fumes and airborne particles from cleaning agents, oils, and other materials.
