Position Summary

The individual in this role will be tasked with the meticulous management of bioprocessing tubing drawings for clients. This position also supports the Head of Bioprocessing Solutions in the creation and design of technical drawings, as well as the acquisition of vendor part numbers.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with Benchmark's sales team and maintaining effective communication with employees, clients, and suppliers. Given the company's recent investment in multiple ISO 9001:2015-certified cleanrooms, this role is vital in aiding the assembly of custom single-use tubing solutions tailored to the manufacturing requirements of Benchmark's Life Science clientele.

This position reports directly to both the Head of Bioprocessing Solutions and the CEO of Benchmark.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of Bioprocessing Solutions in the preparation and design of technical drawings while ensuring accurate revision tracking.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Bioprocessing Solutions, sales representatives, and clients to identify and implement process enhancements aimed at improving production yields, equipment reliability, and overall operational performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve customer-related issues concerning tubing assemblies in drug manufacturing processes.
  • Support the preparation of quotes for tubing assemblies, ensuring precision and efficiency.
  • Identify and document the appropriate component supplier part numbers, ensuring accurate representation in technical drawings.
  • Assist management in exploring potential process improvements for tubing assemblies, encompassing revision control, quoting, purchasing, and managing supplier components post-order receipt.
  • Gain invaluable experience and mentorship by collaborating directly with a seasoned product design engineer possessing over 25 years of expertise and numerous patented innovations.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally in bioprocessing or single-use assembly design.
  • A Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, biotechnology, or a related discipline is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in CAD drawing software is essential; experience with SolidWorks is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with sterile environments and ISO 9001:2015-certified organizations is preferred.
