In the role of Lead Geotechnical Engineer, you will deliver engineering and advisory services across a diverse range of projects and clientele. Your tasks will encompass conducting and overseeing field assessments, performing engineering evaluations, executing calculations, and formulating recommendations. You will also be involved in the design and drafting of plans and specifications, as well as the observation and inspection of work, culminating in the preparation and review of comprehensive reports. You will ensure that all construction aligns with established plans and specifications, prepare proposals and cost estimates, monitor project progress, and suggest necessary adjustments. Additionally, you will research and address design and construction challenges, evaluate laboratory or field data for report inclusion, and effectively communicate intricate engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your services may extend to existing or prospective projects within public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial sectors.
Essential Duties:
- Champion safety initiatives for the team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and fostering a secure work environment.
- Encourage ongoing quality assessment and enhancement on projects, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Understand project-related risks and implement strategies to safeguard the company, familiarizing yourself with risk management policies.
- Provide senior-level engineering expertise, guiding the successful execution of both standard and complex projects.
- Oversee the conceptualization of initial designs or investigative strategies for significant project phases, or take overall responsibility for engineering tasks on moderately scoped projects.
- Organize, schedule, and conduct engineering work that may involve conventional practices alongside intricate features, such as conflicting design requirements.
- Review projects necessitating advanced investigation techniques and supervise the formulation of recommendations in written reports for clients; provide technical oversight of reports.
- Lead technical training initiatives and make informed decisions based on contemporary technological advancements.
- Drive marketing, sales, and business development efforts.
- Supervise junior engineers or technical support staff on various projects.
- Act as an Authorized Project Reviewer.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 8-11 years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory violation history.
- Authorized Project Reviewer status.
