About the Role

Rise Community Services is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Operations Specialist to oversee all aspects of our billing process. This role requires collaboration with a diverse team to ensure accurate and timely billing that aligns with authorized units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Billing Management: Submit monthly billing claims for services rendered across various funding sources, including Medicaid Waiver Billing, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Billing, and Vocational Rehabilitation Billing.
  • ISL Account Oversight: Oversee payment of Individual Supported Living (ISL) bills and manage related transactions and debts to ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Reconciliation & Accounts Monitoring: Perform account reconciliation for billing and other financial accounts. Monitor and analyze financial data for accounts payable and receivable to ensure accounts are current.
  • Employee Accounts Management: Manage the billing and collection of employee lunch accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in transactions.
  • Financial Analysis & Coding: Analyze billing codes to confirm accurate claims submission. Ensure adherence to CMS regulations and prioritize billing for optimal turnaround.
  • Accounting Procedures & Compliance: Follow proper accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with agency and regulatory guidelines. Assist in developing and updating internal controls and accounting practices.
  • Financial Reporting: Generate reports on financial data, including accounts payable, receivable, and Medicaid billing. Provide status updates and insights on financial conditions to department managers and the Financial Manager.
  • Documentation & Record Maintenance: Maintain organized financial records, including invoices, checks, and account statements. Prepare checks and review statements, reports, and other records for accuracy.
  • External Auditing Support: Coordinate and prepare necessary documentation for external audits. Provide financial data and safeguard agency finances by implementing and recommending financial practices.
  • Policy Recommendations: Make recommendations on internal financial policies and systems to the Financial Manager. Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting procedures and internal controls to ensure the integrity of all financial systems.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5years experience in billing or similar role.
  • Knowledge of billing regulations and practices, particularly in social services.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and any subsequent background check after employment.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and will be subject to random drug and alcohol checks thereafter.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a Missouri Class E chauffeur's license within 14 days of hire.
  • Successfully complete employment-related training as directed.
