Athletic Trainer

Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, a leading healthcare provider in the region, is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team. As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a critical role in providing medical care and rehabilitation services to patients, ensuring they receive the best possible treatment and support.
Job Summary:The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for providing medical care and rehabilitation services to patients, including initial evaluations, treatment plans, and progress monitoring. You will work closely with our healthcare team to ensure patients receive comprehensive care and support.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform initial evaluations of patients, including medical history and physical examinations
- Present findings and confer with attending physicians to determine treatment plans
- Coordinate elements of treatment plans and monitor patient progress and adherence
- Provide routine medical care, including minor dressing changes and suture or staple removal
- Provide health education and health maintenance services
- Responsible for triage and referral to appropriate sources when primary care patients present with new symptoms
- Maintain adequate medical records on all injuries and rehabilitation procedures
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field
- Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers or eligibility
- Athletic Training license or eligibility to become licensed within 6 months of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certified
