We are seeking a skilled Title Officer to join our team at Weichert Realtors in Cherry, NJ. This is a challenging role that requires expertise in determining insurability of properties and managing complex title-related issues.
Job SummaryThe Senior Title Officer will be responsible for assessing risk and determining under what conditions a property may be insured. They will handle complicated issues with significant financial implications, provide guidance to less experienced staff, and make binding decisions relative to escrow for title-related items.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate title and legal issues, providing recommendations on how to best resolve them.
- Determine insurability of premises under various circumstances, including short sales, mortgage foreclosure, and liens.
- Interface with the Agency's Title Insurance Underwriter to determine insurability and Settlement Department in regard to clearing title.
- Review all title clearance issues and judgments, negotiating with buyer's/seller's attorney as needed.
- Establish an acceptable outcome and resolution of title issues for all parties involved in transactions.
- Review and evaluate title claims, reporting findings and recommendations to the Vice President of Title Production.
- Title Insurance Producer License required.
- Ten (10) or more years of experience in the title industry or related field.
- Previous experience with commercial closings strongly preferred.
- Versed in procedures and processes of a Commercial closing.
- Strong understanding of real estate and mortgage industries.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 based on experience and qualifications.
This figure reflects the average compensation for similar positions in the region and is subject to change based on company performance and market conditions.
