Position Overview

The Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will deliver essential primary care services, which encompass evaluating, diagnosing, prescribing, treating, and educating patients. This role involves collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care. The successful candidate will provide care within a nursing home environment, focusing on both post-acute and long-term care patients.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Possession of a current NP/PA license issued by the State of Maine or eligibility for licensure.
  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant educational program.
  • BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Preferred experience of two years as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, though not essential.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain effective interpersonal relationships with physicians, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and patients.
  • Familiarity with patient assessment methodologies, including gathering medical histories, conducting physical examinations, and evaluating overall health status.
  • Competence in case management, time management, problem-solving, crisis intervention, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Capability to make informed decisions within the NP/PA practice scope.
  • Skill in educating patients, families, and staff in a clear and approachable manner.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in utilizing computerized health information management systems.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
