Child Life Specialist, Women's

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team at Sutter Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing therapeutic play activities and interventions to pediatric patients and their families in the Women's Department.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pediatric patients and their families in coping with hospitalization and illness through evidence-based therapeutic, recreational, and diversion interventions.
- Plan and implement programs and services to meet the needs of assigned clinical populations and the child life department.
- Promote and practice the delivery of high-quality family-centered care and services for patients and families.
- Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field.
- Successful completion of a Child Life internship that meets the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) requirement for Clinical Child Life Certification.
- Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) certification within one year of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- 5 years of recent relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of child growth and development, family dynamics, therapeutic play, developmental assessment, and group process and behavior management.
- Ability to implement therapeutic play activities for individual children and groups, and to assess children's behaviors and needs.
- Ability to utilize and teach coping strategies, and to utilize appropriate supervisory skills with volunteers, students, and interns.
This is a full-time position with varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.
