The Regional Training Specialist ensures that purveyors, their teams, and retail partners comprehend and implement Boar's Head's customer experience initiatives effectively.

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities for performance enhancement and address gaps at the consumer-facing level by assessing the capabilities of purveyors' training and sales event teams, as well as deli counter staff. This evaluation includes conducting assessments and observations to gauge the effectiveness and consistency of purveyors and their trainers in executing the company's training and customer experience standards.
  • Collaborate with home office departments and retail relations teams to ensure that training programs are effectively integrated into retailers' operations. Align Boar's Head training with retail partners' initiatives to achieve company objectives while accommodating the needs of retailers.
  • Oversee the Learning Management System to ensure it meets the requirements of local purveyors and sales teams through system administration, content development, and reporting.
  • Continuously coach and develop purveyors and their training and sales event teams to guarantee the flawless execution of current customer experience initiatives. Assist and guide trainers in conducting training sessions by co-facilitating training for deli associates and managers.
  • Support purveyors in selecting trainers and personnel for sales events.
  • Manage a comprehensive training schedule to deliver appropriate training at the right location and time based on current performance, purveyor hiring, and retail customer needs.
  • Utilize Boar's Head Customer Experience training tools to consistently achieve results.
  • Conduct training for purveyors, their trainers, and sales event teams using a variety of methodologies, including classroom instruction, in-person training, behind-the-counter sessions, LMS content, and webinars.
  • Act as a passionate ambassador for the Boar's Head brand.
  • Collaborate with Zone Managers and Purveyors to develop training schedules that ensure optimal outcomes with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Assist with new store openings and partner with relevant business stakeholders to ensure successful launches.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Boar's Head's products, processes, standards, and training programs.
  • Oversee training completion, certifications, and service metrics, tracking and reporting the effectiveness of all training activities using established metrics regularly.
  • Recommend improvements to training content, execution methods, and priorities based on direct field observations.
  • Keep the Customer Experience Department informed of any concerns, issues, and opportunities identified while in the field.
  • In collaboration with local purveyors and Zone Management teams, the Lead Regional Training Specialist and the Customer Experience Director, prioritize and target training initiatives.
  • Create training class schedules, develop lesson plans, and monitor participant attendance.
  • Partner with Purveyor Trainers to synergistically provide the highest level of support to purveyors.
Qualifications
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong willingness and ability to learn and develop subject-matter expertise.
  • Ability to multitask, follow up, and manage competing priorities independently.
  • Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time to various locations.
  • 10+ years of experience in multi-unit retail management.
  • Knowledge of grocery, deli, and distribution operations.
  • Excellent coaching skills in both classroom and one-on-one settings.
  • Budgeting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in the training field.
  • Strong facilitation and delivery skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to achieve team objectives.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems.
  • Experience in writing training content.
