Bookkeeping Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team at Express Employment Professionals of Hawaii. As a Hybrid Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing our financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial record-keeping.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with experience in QuickBooks, Sage Intact, and Microsoft Office. You will work closely with our team to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of our financial transactions, while also identifying opportunities for process improvements.
We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Process Payroll and Reconcile Credit Card Transactions
- Maintain Financial Records and Ensure Compliance with Tax Laws
- Recommend Improvements to Internal Controls and Processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred (or 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience)
- Experience with nonprofit or housing development accounting is highly preferred
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Sage Intact, Microsoft Office, and other relevant tools
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Passion for affordable housing development and dedication to housing solutions for at-risk populations
