While relevant experience and qualifications are essential for this position, it is equally important to possess the necessary interpersonal skills.


POSITION OVERVIEW

Transform client requirements into detailed drawings utilizing specifications, floor plans, and purchase orders; assist in the development of new products, revise existing designs, and create standard models while accommodating customer preferences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Investigate and implement standard and custom fabrication techniques for sheet metal in product drawings.
  • Resolve issues with fellow CAD Drafters regarding specific projects and equipment needs.
  • Create comprehensive drawings of equipment using CAD software.
  • Reference previous drawings completed by the company to aid in the design of new products.
  • Engage with clients to clarify inquiries related to equipment specifications.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy in models.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's degree in drafting from an accredited Technical School.
  • At least 1 year of experience or a combination of education and training.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Proficient in CAD software.
  • Experience working with stainless steel materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment as a Drafter or in a similar capacity.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid mathematical skills.
  • Capable of working independently.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in various drafting software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Detail-oriented and quality-focused.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Accurate measuring skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The characteristics of the work environment described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this role. The position requires the ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently and necessitates the ability to see, hear, speak, walk, bend, reach, and stand. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
