Job Title: Security Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Securitas AB. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing security services at various sites across a defined geographical area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Protecting customers, employees, property, and other assets
  • Delivering the highest levels of customer service, consistently demonstrating Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness
  • Preventing and deterring unauthorized access to site
  • Monitoring fire alarms, intruder alarms, and CCTV
  • Conducting external and internal security patrols
  • Carrying out routine tests of security equipment
  • Maintaining all logbooks and records, ensuring all paperwork is completed in a timely fashion and conducting effective handover procedures
  • Recording and reporting all faults, health and safety hazards, and unsafe working practices to management
  • Providing support, guidance, and information to all staff, visitors, and contractors while ensuring safeguarding of the premises
  • Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Reporting any usage of First Aid equipment and shortfalls in the contents of First Aid boxes
  • Reporting instances of property at risk of being lost, stolen, damaged, and/or vandalized
  • During patrols, switching off unnecessary lights and closing windows
  • Displaying an outstanding level of customer service
  • Displaying the highest standard of personal presentation to maintain the image of Securitas and the customer
  • Identifying opportunities for improving practices and processes
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Undertaking any other duties as requested by Management
  • Good understanding of English, written and orally
Requirements:
  • Available as and when called upon to cover shifts, including weekends, occasionally at short notice
  • Right to work in the UK and have a five-year checkable employment history or be able to produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment
  • No current criminal convictions
  • A full UK driving license
  • Own transport due to the location of the clients' sites
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus
  • Well-presented
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Willing and able to work shifts covering days, nights, and weekends at short notice
  • To provide all the documentation and vetting information requested
  • Manage multiple tasks
  • The ability to make good judgments and come to sensible conclusions
  • Completion of in-house training within the probation period
  • Access to a laptop to complete mandatory online training
  • Computer literate
  • Good level of fitness
Desirable Skills:
  • First Aid at Work qualification
  • SIA License
  • CCTV license
  • Front of House experience
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations
  • Basic Health and Safety certificate
  • Knowledge of BS7858
  • Background in Security
  • Security experience
