Driver License Examiner Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Driver License Examiner Specialist to join our team at the State of Kansas. As a Driver License Examiner Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting driver's license examinations to determine the eligibility of individual applicants based on well-defined guidelines.
This role involves working with customers face-to-face and on the phone, performing vision examinations, entering applicant information into a web-based application, scanning documents, handling cash, and conducting drive tests for vehicles of all sizes, including commercial vehicles and motorcycles.
This position requires travel to surrounding offices and involves working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct driver's license examinations to determine eligibility
- Work with customers face-to-face and on the phone
- Perform vision examinations
- Enter applicant information into a web-based application
- Scan documents
- Handle cash
- Conduct drive tests for vehicles of all sizes
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) or valid driver license and eligibility to obtain CDL
- Good driving record
- Six months experience in examining and licensing individuals to operate vehicles on public highways, roads, and streets
- Two years of experience operating a commercial vehicle or utilizing a CDL
- 12 months training experience
- 12 months face-to-face customer service experience
