Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Services Specialist I to join our team at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte. As a key member of our health center staff, you will provide high-quality patient care and support services in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in all health center areas, including sexual and reproductive health, abortion, prenatal, and family medicine.
  • Screen patients for financial, medical, and social history, and document pertinent information accurately.
  • Contribute to achieving health center productivity goals and demonstrate PPMM customer service standards.
  • Solicit donations from patients and demonstrate PPMM workplace values and service standards.
  • Follow all patient care standards and ensure accuracy of charges and posts charges to EPM for all pay types.
  • Run end-of-day reports as directed by Center Manager and handle patient check-out, calculates and collects fees, and schedules future appointments.
  • Contacts appropriate Health Center staff and billing department personnel as necessary to obtain information needed to complete billing and to resolve errors.
  • Responsible for scanning all documents in patients chart at date of service and completing all billing tasks and corrections within 72 hours of receipt.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Able to communicate sensitive information across a range of diverse backgrounds (both verbal and written)
  • General knowledge of Windows based computer applications and willingness to learn new computer skills
  • Able to work in a busy environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising accuracy, attention to detail and respect to patients and staff
Working Conditions

Able to work nights and weekends as required and able to work at a variety of PPMM locations.
