Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist II

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to join our team at West Tennessee Healthcare. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing and reporting laboratory tests in a prompt, efficient, and accurate manner.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and determine the accuracy of routine and special laboratory tests in designated sections of the laboratory.
  • Evaluate and report test results as instructed by test procedure or section procedure.
  • Operate, calibrate, conduct performance checks, and maintain clinical laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Document and maintain records of preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and take appropriate steps to resolve malfunctions on assigned instruments.
  • Assist in evaluating new instruments and establishing maintenance protocols with approval of supervisor and pathologist.
  • Contribute to the positive work climate and overall team effort of the department.

Requirements:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from a NACCLS approved program or equivalent.

Licensure, Registration, Certification:
MT/CLS (ASCP) or equivalent. Must obtain TN State License within six months of hire date. Maintain State of TN licensure by completing continuing education as required by State of not less than 12 CE hours annually.

Experience:
Personnel should possess a level of knowledge through education, training, and or experience to perform technical duties.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures normally acquired by 3 months to one year of on-the-job training and orientation.
