Cardiac Sonographer I

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of cardiac ultrasound studies in clinical and research settings.
  • Conduct Transthoracic, Exercise, and Pharmacologic Stress Echocardiograms, as well as special procedures such as echo-guided myocardial biopsies.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, investigators, and other sonographers to ensure exams are completed according to established policies and procedures.
  • Provide clinical instruction to JHH Ultrasound students and Cardiology Fellows in the Echo Lab.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Program (CAAHEP) - accredited Diagnostic ultrasound program.
  • Successful completion of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic program and experience as a Cardiac Sonographer in a hospital-based environment or additional experience as a vascular technologist.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiac Credentialing International (CCI) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification.
