Medical Assistant Professional

The Certified Medical Assistant is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.
- Room patients, utilizing rooming standards, and set up exam rooms accordingly, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts, demonstrating attention to detail and accuracy.
- Instruct patients regarding preparation for tests and procedures, providing clear and concise instructions.
- Record laboratory, x-ray, ECG results, and other pertinent medical data in patients' charts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring the doctor sees all necessary information, and maintain confidentiality.
- Clean and stock exam rooms, including monthly instrument cleaning, sterilization of instruments, and refilling of supplies as necessary, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Handle patient telephone calls as directed by the Triage Nurse, providing excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Screen patient telephone calls to the physician and call patients to relay advice, information, and instructions from the physician, demonstrating effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Call in prescriptions and refills to pharmacies under physician direction, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
- Schedule special appointments, such as referrals, surgeries, x-ray, and lab, utilizing strong organizational and time management skills.
- Assess and schedule appointments for patients, ensuring efficient and effective use of time.
- Communicate with callers, patients, physicians, other staff, and anyone they interact with during their assigned work hours in a polite, courteous, understandable manner that projects an interest in providing high-quality customer service.
- Abstract medical information on patients into the EMR, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
Requirements:
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
- 1 year of clinical experience
- EPIC experience
Work Environment:
This is a fully on-site position in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Work Schedule:
4-day work week Schedule varies depending on the doctor and/or if they are in a float position. Hours are between 8am and 5pm totaling 36-40 hours per week.
