Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Scheduler to join our team at PCL Construction Services, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer-focused relationships with all trade partners, preparing quantity take-offs, and incorporating production analysis into the schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with all trade partners.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and incorporate production analysis into the schedule.
  • Communicate with site staff and trade partners to determine actual construction progress and provide regular schedule updates.
  • Contribute to the planning and scheduling process through various construction phases.
  • Support interactive planning and scheduling sessions.
  • Assist project management in creating and monitoring short-term schedules and determining their impact on the master schedule.
  • Update schedule logic and provide progress reporting to the project team.
  • Implement trade partner schedules into the master project schedule and track progress.
  • Incorporate resource and load costing data into schedules as required.
  • Continuously expand and update professional knowledge of scheduling software to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • Engineering Technology diploma or Engineering bachelor's degree preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience.
  • Basic knowledge of construction specifications, building materials, methods, and procedures.
  • Ability to apply basic engineering and planning principles to construction challenges.
  • Ability to complete quantity take-offs and understand productivity rates.
  • General understanding of planning and scheduling principles, best practices, and techniques.
  • Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing work under strict timelines.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable systems.
  • Basic working knowledge of scheduling software such as Primavera P6 EPPM.
  • Basic working knowledge of the Critical Path Scheduling method related to the construction industry.
