Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Compressor Mechanic to join our team at Gerdau. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine and non-routine maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal operation of our industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preventative Maintenance: Complete regular maintenance tasks on compressors, including oil changes, cleaning, and setting controls.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, as well as replace pressure switches, gauges, valves, and air regulators.
  • Electrical Systems: Maintain electrical systems and sensors, and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
  • Equipment Installation and Repair: Install, repair, and maintain refrigerated or desiccant air dryers, after coolers, and air tanks.
  • Motor and Compressor Repair: Repair and maintain compressor pumps, vacuum pumps, and motors.
  • Rigging and Safety: Set up rigging equipment and safely remove and reinstall motors, compressors, and associated components.
  • Tool Operation: Safely use all hand tools and power tools, including drill motors, grinders, band saws, etc.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of heavy industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Skills: Advanced knowledge of AC/DC motors, gear box mechanics, lubrication principles, welding, cutting torch, NFPA 70E, and common maintenance hand tools.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, and push and pull objects.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced industrial environment, with exposure to extreme temperatures, noise levels, and confined spaces.
