Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee students during breakfast, nutrition, and lunch periods in designated areas;
- Report any notable student behavior issues;
- Encourage students to adhere to acceptable behavior standards;
- Ensure students remain in assigned eating areas;
- Maintain cleanliness and order in eating areas;
- Assist with food preparation and other related duties within the cafeteria;
- Promote safe and sanitary practices in eating areas;
- Help manage student serving lines;
- Report unsafe conditions or equipment in the nutrition services area;
- Document all accidents or injuries to the appropriate authority;
- Seek emergency assistance for accidents when necessary;
- Instruct and supervise students in proper conduct within nutrition service areas.
Qualifications:
The Baldwin Park Unified School District is seeking candidates for the role of Substitute Nutrition Services Aide. These positions will be available at various school sites on an as-needed basis.
Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge of basic school safety protocols.
- Understanding of child development and behavior.
- Familiarity with first aid principles.
- Knowledge of safe and sanitary practices related to nutrition services.
- Ability to supervise children and maintain order.
- Capability to uphold acceptable behavior standards among students.
- Willingness to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work patterns and schedules.
- Certification in first aid.
Education and Experience:
Eligible candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Required Certifications:
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Proof of high school graduation (diploma, transcripts, or GED).
