We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietary Specialist to join our team at St. John's Hospice, a part of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. This is a full-time position that requires a strong culinary background and excellent communication skills.

Job Summary

The Dietary Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the food service operations, including cooking, menu planning, and inventory management. They will work closely with the Director of Dietary to ensure that meals are prepared safely and efficiently.

About the Role
  • Lead the dietary department, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Develop and implement menus that cater to the diverse needs of our residents
  • Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and equipment as needed
  • Supervise staff members, providing guidance and training to ensure they meet expectations
  • Collaborate with the Director of Dietary to plan and coordinate special events and functions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in the food service industry
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Serv-Safe certification preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and stand for long periods
