The role of the CT Imaging Specialist involves executing diagnostic computerized tomography scanning procedures to deliver consistently high-quality imaging results while adhering to all relevant standards, regulations, and licensing requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Work under the supervision of the Radiology Manager, without direct supervision of other staff.
- Assist in the education of imaging students and provide safety lectures related to CT procedures to hospital personnel as needed.
- Maintain professional expertise by engaging in continuous learning and staying updated on current literature and advancements in diagnostic imaging.
- Contribute to the assessment and development of new imaging protocols and quality improvement initiatives, actively evaluating and enhancing operational practices.
- Conduct diagnostic CT scanning procedures, ensuring optimal techniques and positioning to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Handle finalization tasks, including limited coding within the radiology information system (RIS) to ensure accurate patient information and billing processes.
- Perform routine equipment calibration and maintenance, identifying and resolving malfunctions to ensure safe and effective operations.
- Provide comprehensive CT safety information to patients and their families, ensuring a clear understanding of the procedures involved.
- Carry out additional job-related tasks as required.
