Job Title: Registered School Nurse

Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered School Nurse to join our team. As a Registered School Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to students in a school setting.

Job Summary:

The Registered School Nurse will work closely with teachers, administrators, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the health and well-being of students. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to students in a school setting, including administering medications, wound care, and other treatments as needed.
  • Conduct health assessments and develop individualized care plans for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop and implement health education programs for students.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student health and well-being.
  • Participate in school health committees and other professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Current, unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of school health policies and procedures.
  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
Environment:
  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions.
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
