Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies, embedded systems, and other complex products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets customer requirements and industry standards
- Develop and maintain design documentation, including 3D models, drawings, and bills of materials
- Analyze and troubleshoot design issues, and implement corrective actions
- Work with manufacturing teams to optimize design for manufacturability and reduce production costs
- Develop and maintain relationships with component vendors and outside manufacturing contractors
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our products and processes
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and development, with a focus on complex systems and assemblies
- Strong knowledge of 3D CAD design tools, including SolidWorks
- Experience with design for manufacturability, assembly, and testing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex design issues and implement effective solutions
- Experience with MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461
- Knowledge of injection molding, thermoform, casting, and other high-volume production methods
- Experience with cable harnesses, wiring, and cable management products
- Knowledge of UL requirements for safety of electronic assemblies
- Experience with PCB layout and design
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems
