Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sealcoat Operations Manager to join our team at Rose Paving. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of seal coat laborers, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of seal coat laborers, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards and within budget.
  • Perform tasks involving physical labor at parking lots, including operating maintenance equipment and performing routine repair and maintenance of equipment.
  • Communicate daily with project managers to ensure that project status is up-to-date and that all stakeholders are informed.
  • Ensure that all materials are installed per specifications for the project and that all work is completed to Rose Paving standards.
  • Responsible for checking weather conditions on a daily basis and implementing traffic control measures as necessary.
  • Accountable for preventing the loading of company trucks that may result in overweight tickets.
  • Ensures that all materials are installed to manufacturer's specifications for product application.
  • Complete all work within Rose Paving LLC standards.
  • Evaluates situations and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crews.
  • Acts as a problem solver to reduce work issues, and/or assists workers in solving work challenges.
  • Estimates crews' hours requirements for completion of assignments.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activity of other fieldwork.
  • Builds customer relationships by introducing oneself to clients upon arrival to jobsite.
  • Operates within budgetary constraints.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains a service and maintenance program on all equipment.
  • Participate in company's employee evaluation program.
  • Enforces company policies to team members.
  • Encourages and initiates cross training when appropriate.
  • Creates a positive work environment through coaching, motivating team members inorder to achieve departmental goals.
  • Investigates continuing education opportunities for personal/crew development.
  • Enforces personal and field safety protection while working.
  • Performs bi-monthly mandatory safety meetings.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experienceand/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Broad understanding of Rose Paving's business and proven abilities in the areas ofpreparation and installation of Seal Coating, and a thorough understanding of Rose Paving's otherservices in the areas of Cracksealing, Catch Basin Repair, and Parking Lot Marking work.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry.
