About the Role

As a Registered Nurse at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, you will provide professional nursing care for patients under general supervision, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities
  1. Administer chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under physician direction and supervision.
  2. Maintain knowledge of drug reimbursement procedures and complete all chemotherapy charge forms.
  3. Assure pre-authorization and obtain necessary consent forms before administering therapies.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance.
  5. Facilitate dose modifications by assessing patient needs, consulting treatment plans, and collaborating with physicians.
  6. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central lines catheter devices.
  7. Administer medications using correct dosage, route, time, and technique.
  8. Document nursing assessments, patient teaching, and fluid and medication administration in patient charts.
  9. Communicate patient information and interventions to physicians.
  10. Triage patient phone calls and document relevant information in patient charts.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program (BSN preferred).
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum two years of nursing experience (oncology experience preferred).
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a dynamic oncology/hematology clinic environment with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to the field.
