Dietitian Specialist

**About the Role:** We are seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to join our team in Soledad, CA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing nutritional services to residents in a correctional facility.

Main Duties:

1. Under the direction of the Institution's designee, assist clinical personnel with special nutritional needs and provide individual and group treatment and social casework for residents and their families
2. Plan dietary intervention and strategies, attend interdisciplinary team conferences, and monitor and document nutritional needs and goals
3. Conduct and complete nutrition assessments within 72 hours of physician's order, and provide nutritional counseling as needed
4. Participate in committees relating to nutrition, food service, bioethics, performance improvement/quality assurance, and other issues
5. Instruct institutional food service employees on medical diets and provide alternative food product suggestions or allowed substitutions
6. Provide follow-up consultations with patients as needed or ordered by a physician
7. Maintain professional working relationships between Food Services, Correctional Healthcare Services staff, and custodial staff
8. Prepare written dietary service status reports each month

To be successful in this role, applicants must have at least 12 months of experience within the last three years performing services similar in scope to those defined herein, in a public or private institution. They must also have current and valid registration issued by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
