LHH is partnering with a prestigious Am Law firm to fill a Toxic Tort Associate Attorney or Of Counsel position. This role will be based in Texas, with the option to work remotely, and will support the California team in handling complex toxic tort matters.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal injury defense litigation, with a focus on asbestos, talc, silicosis, diacetyl, benzene, or related toxic tort matters. This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging cases and be at the forefront of emerging legal issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments and offices to contribute to a cohesive team environment
  • Independently manage a litigation caseload as part of a team, working cases from beginning to end
  • Communicate with clients and provide status reports
Qualifications:
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of Texas
  • 2+ years (Associate) 8+ years (Of Counsel) of toxic tort litigation experience preferred
  • Asbestos, talc, silicosis, diacetyl, benzene, or related toxic tort experience preferred
  • Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required
  • Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and other fact witnesses preferred
  • Experience handling court appearances, depositions, and trial experience a plus
  • 2nd chair trial experience a plus
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
