Position Overview

Dignity Health Arizona General Hospital - Mesa is seeking a skilled and dedicated Travel Nurse RN specializing in Telemetry. This role is ideal for professionals with substantial experience in telemetry nursing.

Certification Requirements
  • ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
  • Completion of a dysrhythmia examination is required prior to the commencement of the contract.
Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality care to patients in a telemetry setting.
  • Maintaining an active AZ (or compact) nursing license.
  • Passing a dysrhythmia exam upon acceptance, along with a practical assessment during orientation.
  • Adhering to COVID-19 vaccination protocols or submitting a declination form with appropriate documentation.
Experience and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of current telemetry nursing experience is required.
  • Prior travel nursing experience is preferred.
  • Active certifications in ACLS and BLS are essential.
  • Possession of an active AZ (or compact) nursing license is necessary.
Work Schedule
  • Shifts: 7 AM - 7 PM; 7 PM - 7 AM.
  • Weekend shifts are required in rotation with core staff.
  • Participation in holiday rotations is expected.
Unit Specific Information
  • Patient-to-nurse ratios: 1:4-5.
  • Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner.
  • Charge Nurse available on the unit.
  • Support staff includes PCT/Nursing Aides during all shifts.
  • Orientation specific to the unit will be provided.
  • Common patient diagnoses include telemetry and medical/surgical cases, encompassing neurology, cardiology, urology, orthopedics, general surgery, renal, pulmonology, and infectious diseases.
Additional Information
  • COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement or a declination form must be submitted with supporting documentation.
  • Flexibility to float to a sister facility may be necessary.
  • Understanding of sterile field protocols is essential for passing practical assessments.
  • Practical assessments are pass/fail, and adherence to sterile field standards is critical.
