Job Summary:

As a Medical Office Assistant at UNC Health Care, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical offices. Your primary responsibilities will include performing patient check-in and check-out procedures, processing financial information, and providing patient billing information. You will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as revenue cycle and financial audit guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform patient check-in and check-out procedures
Process financial information and provide patient billing information
Maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures
Maintain compliance with revenue cycle and financial audit guidelines
Demonstrate effective customer service and computer skills

Requirements:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Prefer completion of an accredited medical administrative assisting program and previous experience in a medical office
Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of 36 hours per week. The salary range is $17.50 - $24.63 per hour, and pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity. This position is employed by NC Health, a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System.
