We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse II to join our Medical Services unit in the Travis County Juvenile Probation Department. As a Registered Nurse II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our juvenile clients.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse II will provide direct patient care, including assessment, medication management, and wound care. You will also be responsible for coordinating with other medical staff to ensure seamless care delivery. This is a part-time/full-time position, with shift differential pay available for weekend hours worked.
Responsibilities:- Conduct intake and physical assessments of patients, including immediate medical attention and/or psychological needs.
- Order and inventory medications daily, responding to and assessing all categories of patient emergent medical needs.
- Provide direct health care to patients, including wound care, medication administration, monitoring of vital signs, and laboratory procedures.
- Consult with clinical and administrative staff about patient health care issues.
- Document patient's condition and maintain patient medical files and records.
- Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- One (1) year of Registered Nursing experience.
- Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and other federal and state laws requiring the confidential handling of certain health information.
This position may require work in secure facilities and a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the department.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift/carry up to pounds occasionally, visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination, and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment.
The essential duties, functions, and responsibilities and overtime eligibility may vary based on the specific tasks assigned to the position.
Shift work; Weekend Night Shift 10pm-6am
