About The Salvation Army USA Western Territory

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class A Driver to join our Operations Team at The Salvation Army USA Western Territory. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods and materials to support our Adult Rehabilitation Program.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Following daily routing directions and ensuring timely delivery of goods and materials
  • Managing time effectively to complete routes within approved work schedules
  • Ensuring the safe loading and unloading of assigned trucks and assisting with the safe loading or unloading of other trucks as requested
  • Training and supervising truck helpers in their Work Therapy Assignment (WTA) and promoting good personal and professional work habits
  • Responsible for Bag & Tag as instructed by Supervisor and procedure
  • Providing excellent customer service and ensuring that all customers are treated with courtesy and respect
  • Abiding by all DOT regulations and state and local laws while maintaining a safe driving record
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must:

  • Hold a valid California driver's license (Class A) and have a clean driving record
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have strong time management and customer service skills
  • Be able to operate electronic equipment used for daily route information
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills
Physical Demands

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to lift up to 100lbs
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is $28.00 per hour. Full-time employees may be scheduled to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
