Life Safety Gas Detection Specialist

Join our team at Orion Talent as a Life Safety Gas Detection Lead, supporting our corporate HQ in Durham, NC. As a critical member of the Facilities Operations and Maintenance group, you will report to the Critical Life Safety Systems Manager and be responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and operations of our continuous gas detection system.
Key Responsibilities:- Support all life safety gas detection inspections, testing, service, repairs, and maintenance
- Ensure the toxic gas monitoring (TGM) system is in compliance with all local and federal regulations and NFPA codes
- Coordinate and support local LSS contractors for system upgrades, improvements, and repairs as needed
- Lead new tool and equipment gas detection equipment and monitoring install, relocations, and demos
- Develop and maintain TGM system network, troubles, and alarm log with root causes and corrective actions
- Complete maintenance, device repairs, and service that include: sensor replacements, sensor calibration, device troubleshooting, network service, SCADA programming, PLC work
- Support other life safety systems including fire alarm and fire protection equipment
- 5+ years' experience as Life Safety technician required with detailed understanding of Gas Detection Equipment, PLCs, low voltage wiring, Fire Protection, and Fire Alarm systems
- Knowledge of local and national codes that include: Life Safety 101, International Building Code, International Fire Code, NFPA 10, 13, 25, 72, and OSHA
- Must be able to push, pull, lift 25 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs when assisted
- Must be comfortable with heights, working on ladders or lifts or in confined spaces
