Position Overview: The Shift Leader at United Dairy Farmers plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to every customer by adhering to the five phases of The Hi Five Guest Experience: Invited, Welcomed, Well-Served, Respected, and Fulfilled. This position entails not only personal engagement with guests but also overseeing other team members in the absence of a higher-level manager during shifts. The Shift Leader is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies to maintain a safe and efficient operation while conducting all duties with integrity and adherence to legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Guest Service Excellence: Deliver the signature UDF Hi Five Guest Experience by warmly greeting guests, ensuring the store is always ready for visitors, and anticipating their needs to guarantee satisfaction and encourage return visits.
  2. DipSide Operations: Prepare a variety of treats including shakes, malts, ice cream, yogurt, sundaes, and sodas.
  3. Point of Sale Management: Efficiently operate the POS system and gas console, accurately processing all transactions and managing cash flow.
  4. Inventory Management: Maintain well-stocked shelves and displays, ensuring all products are rotated and presented attractively to guests.
  5. Security Awareness: Monitor store activities to prevent theft and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  6. Store Maintenance: Keep the store and surrounding areas clean, organized, and safe, while ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
  7. Reporting Duties: Complete time records and other required documentation accurately.
  8. Additional Responsibilities: Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficient in spoken English to communicate effectively with customers.
  • Able to see and operate store equipment, including the POS terminal and gas console.
  • Capable of understanding and following operating instructions for all store equipment.
  • Skilled in preparing DipSide items using available supplies.
  • Proficient in handling various forms of payment and making accurate change.
  • Able to recognize numbers and perform basic arithmetic for record-keeping.
  • Physically capable of moving merchandise and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Ability to tolerate cold temperatures and lift specified weights.
