POSITION OVERVIEW

Compensation: $36.00 per hour.

Location: Hybrid work environment.

Holland Partner Group is in search of a dedicated and meticulous professional to enhance our dynamic accounting team at our corporate headquarters. The Senior General Ledger Accountant will oversee a comprehensive suite of accounting responsibilities for designated properties, aligning with our core values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Generate monthly financial reports along with all necessary documentation and schedules for the assigned portfolio.
  • Execute month-end accounting closures for the designated property portfolio.
  • Conduct thorough monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and record monthly and quarterly journal entries.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation for all journal entries within the accounting system.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies impacting financial records.
  • Engage daily with Senior Accountants, Property Managers, and Regional Property Managers to facilitate timely and precise month-end closing processes.
  • Act as a resource for Property Managers on accounting-related inquiries.
  • Represent Holland Partner Group with professionalism at all times.
  • Adhere to company dress code standards and set a positive example for colleagues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and contribute to the overall team objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred.

Experience: Minimum of two years in general ledger accounting; prior experience in property management accounting is highly desirable. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting may substitute for specified work experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Capability to accurately manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of fundamental accounting principles (e.g., journal entries, debits, credits).
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), particularly accrual accounting.
  • Proficiency in basic to intermediate mathematical functions.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi and/or MRI software is a plus. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat is preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and professionally.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Capacity to perform effectively under pressure, reassess priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Aptitude for interacting with employees at all organizational levels.
Attendance Requirements: This full-time role necessitates consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with the established schedule. Additional hours or overtime may be necessary.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Capability to observe and respond to emergency situations.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
